NBA 2K is the best basketball simulator out there and its 2k23 series will be released on September 9th this year. It’s out now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Now that we can pre-order the game, we’ll be rewarded with tons of 2K23 MT. Now let us introduce the game to you so you can choose which version to buy.
Why NBA 2K23 is based on PS4 and Xbox One on PC
During the NBA 2K23 Q&A session, there was a question about whether they plan to bring the next-gen NBA 2K game to PC and Nintendo Switch in the future.
2K Games explained that this is something the team is passionate about and will be working on in the future. But “for now, our focus is on making sure NBA 2K23 is optimized for the new consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S). At the same time, making sure the player experience on other platforms is fresh and innovative.”

It’s the same answer they gave in their NBA 2K22 Q&A last year. NBA 2K23 is the third game to exclude PCs from technological improvements in next-generation consoles.
This is also what FIFA does in FIFA 22. The reason is that they want to keep the minimum requirements as low as possible. Combining the technical improvements in the PS5 and Series X versions means that the minimum requirements will be greatly increased. Leaving some potential users out of the possibility of buying.
It’s a decision that divides the community, although after three years of “generational transition”. Most of their users choose because now is the time to take this step and deliver the best version possible on PC. In other words, the PC version will be identical to PS4 and Xbox One.
NBA 2K23 Trailer
Fans of the NBA 2K series finally got their first look at the game in a new official trailer. The trailer only lasted 1 minute, and some fans were disappointed as it didn’t seem to include much gameplay. Most of the footage is focused on dunking, which always looks great, but doesn’t show much of the mechanics.
2K hasn’t given much news lately, so it’s a welcome teaser. The last big piece of news was the official announcement that Michael Jordan will once again be the next cover athlete for NBA 2K23.
