Born from NBA 2K21 and only available for the new generation of consoles, NBA 2K23’s cities set out to bring together larger communities and compete between groups in ways we hadn’t achieved yet. NBA 2K22 made many improvements, notably seamless integration with the MyCAREER model. NBA 2K23 is based entirely on feedback from you and our community, taking the City in a whole new direction!
One of the main pieces of feedback we heard from City in 2K22 was that you had to run long distances or skateboard to progress in your career, or venture between each of the attached court areas. We chose to approach this community feedback in two complementary ways that I know you’ll enjoy: the
- NBA 2K23’s City is approximately 30 percent smaller in comparison to what you traversed in NBA 2K22. This allows for a tighter, more This allows for tighter, more meaningful City with fewer unused buildings that served to increase distances between destinations.
- Scattered around NBA 2K23’s City are Subway Stations that you can hop into any time you want to quickly jump around the City. Finding the nearest Fast Travel station is easy, no matter where you are. Simply press R1 on your PS5 controller and we will place a ping on the nearest one and guide you directly to it. Once you are there, you can select to instantly travel to any other Fast Travel location in the City; There is no loading at all!
